Community Living Trent Highlands

Website Design

The Project

We collaborated with ABSolutions to modernize the Community Living Trent Highlands’ (CLTH for short) website.

CLTH is a not-for-profit organization serving the City of Kawartha Lakes, Haliburton County and Peterborough. They are dedicated to providing a range of services to people living with a developmental disability and their families.

CLTH needed a site that was easy to navigate, accessible, authentic, and visually refreshed. Following the merger of two Community Living regions, the combined content had become overwhelming and difficult for users to nativage.

To address this, we worked closely with CLTH staff to streamline content and simplify menus to enhance user experience. Simplifying the structure also ensured that the website would be accessible to individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Authenticity was a key priority for CLTH, and we achieved this by featuring only real photos taken from CLTH programs. The design also built on CLTH’s brand identity through the thoughtful use of colour and shape. Their signature green and blue tones were integrated throughout, and the triangle shapes from their logo were echoed in design elements to create a cohesive and refreshed look. Attention was given to colour contrast, font selection, and text sizing to meet accessibility standards.

The design process began in Figma, where we provided front-end mockups for client review and provided feedback. Once approved, we developed the site in a staging area. The finished product was fully responsive across devices, including phones, tablets, and desktop computers.
